Life in L.A. ...

So one weekend down, 51 or something to go. We finally have everything moved in to the apartment and are beginning to get settled. The perfect start to our time here couldn't have been any more invigorating than a huge USC trouncing of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Because of Annelise's extreme love for Marching with a giant drum on her body, we are able to attend such events with no cost.
Sunday we went to Grace Community Church where John Macarthur is the pastor. Unfortunately he took a sick day, his 4th in 40 years. Still encouraged by the message of Rick Holland, the young adult/college pastor, we proceeded to a Mexican Restaurant called El Cholo, or something like that. I think it means the napkin, or the body wash, I'm not sure. We spent the evening in Santa Monica, at a nice little hotspot with a man in a wheelchair totin a monkey on a leash. Pretty exciting stuff.
Monday morning was an early one, for me anyway. I was up at 4, rummaging through the darkness to find the shower and clothing needed to begin my 5 a.m. work week. Yes, 5:00 in the morning I was at the doors of Panera Bread awaiting my wonderful career as a cashier. So now here we sit, waiting to hit up gold ole IKEA to find a bookshelf and a chair...
